We all know the skin-soothing benefits of aloe vera, but what you might not know is that its South African species, Aloe Ferox, has five times the mineral content and is even richer in nutrients.

Aloe Ferox (Cape Aloe, Aloe Ferox Mill) grows naturally wild in the South eastern regions of South Africa which means it is naturally adapted to its indigenous environment of the Cape Floral Region. It is not cultivated nor cared for by man. Aloe Ferox is watered only by natural rainfall and fed by its own natural ecosystem of plant-life, birdlife and insects. Aloe Ferox survives extreme weather patterns in the heart of dense botanical rich mountain ranges and can live on as a cup of water a year in extreme droughts. It is a hardy and sustainable plant that locks in immensely rich hydrating organic compounds beneath its hardy rugged exterior.

A famed skin hydration, replenishment, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant treatment, Aloe Ferox is a naturally occurring humectant and penetrant. It draws moisture from the atmosphere and transports it deep below the skins' surface. Its naturally occurring gel has unique actives that help form a sheer veil over the skin with protective, soothing and regenerative properties that effectively ‘lock’ in hydration, minerals and nutritional actives.

Aloe Ferox is high in glycoproteins and polysaccharides, amino acids and other plant chemicals with numerous therapeutic actives.

The vast rugged mountainsides of the Cape Floral Region provide the perfect ecosystem for this small, tough aromatic shrub to thrive. In fact Buchu (Agathosma Betulina) survives these extreme landscapes and weather conditions far better than many of its neighbouring plants, and the rough terrain encourages its roots to draw on the nutrient dense soil and mineral rich earth, drawing these potent compounds into its leaf oils and stems.

This exposure to the elements, biodiverse landscape, uncontaminated air and water are believed to intensify the potency of the restorative therapeutic actives Buchu is renowned for.

Considered to be amongst South Africa’s most important therapeutic plants with a long history, Buchu’s antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties are highly spoken of. It has a reputation for reducing free radical damage and for providing a strong defence against the effects of environmental stresses and sun.

Buchu leaf oil releases a distinctive minty herbacious fragrance that provides Aloe Ferox + Ultra Hydrating Facial Gel with its signature differentiated and overwhelmingly refreshing and enjoyable fragrance.

Harvested from its indigenous environment in the Cape Floral Region, Rose Geranium (Pelargonium Graveolens) belongs to the indigenous Geranium family, one of many intriguing aromatherapy plant genus’ endemic to South Africa.

Rose Geranium plants produce an exceptionally pure oil that induces an experience of being at once uplifting and awakening, while being calming and grounding.

Rose Geranium was exported to Europe as a therapeutic plant in the 1800s, believed by traders to be a powerful antioxidant that was known as a popular treatment in improving circulation and assisting with detoxification. It was famed for its balancing effect on the skin and for helping keep skin supple while balancing the stability of oily skin and of dry skin.

Rose Geranium has a reputation as a tonic with stimulating properties that help to provide higher levels of energy and vitality. The oil is considered to help reduce feelings of anxiety, combined with its balancing effect this makes it the perfect botanical to help in uplifting the mood and in promoting feelings of well-being.
